one of my favorite games since it's publishment, a joint effort to create a disturbing story that stays with you once you've left the table. GM-less, it doesn't rely on someone coming up with a twist, but the table as a whole letting the story organically twist and turn into something horrific
I love this game. The mechanics work like a charm to facilitate very personal or world-ending horror. It gives the players creative freedom and at the same time a solid framework to construct a coherent narrative. And it facilitates cooperative storytelling. During the last two years, I've already followed the fate of a doomed young painter at the court of Louis XIV. Her fate was very personal and she's probably still trapped with the dread Marquise in one of her own paintings. Then there was the ambitious arctic scientist who had to witness how plant/fungi spores infected more and more people and took over the world.
